Susan cosplay pics

Hmm, I don't know if anyone is still hanging around here, but here are some pics of my 'Unearthly Child'/'Dalek Invasion of Earth' Susan cosplay I did for Chicago TARDIS 2013.

First Doctor & Susan

And one with the First Doctor! I was so glad to run into a One cosplayer!

I think I should get a new wig if I ever do Susan again- this one was an after-Halloween clearance find, and strands of hair kept falling out all day! But I had lots of fun being Susan, and I hope to do it again sometime. :)

“All my differentness was cut out." - Carol Ann Ford

The Telegraph recently ran an interview with Carol Ann Ford, prompted by the forthcoming 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who, entitled "Doctor Who? It destroyed my acting career."

In the event the article eventually goes missing at their site, I'll excerpt the segment most relevant to the topic of Susan:

"Isn't it a better thing to travel hopefully than arrive?" - Susan Foreman in The Sensorites

By official count the 7th Doctor Who story (ever) and Susan's most substantial part in the second half of her run in the series prior to her exit, The Sensorites has much of the qualities and shortcomings one finds in early Doctor Who

An adventurous series, in case you've missed it:

LEGACY
A fan-series by Ahn-Li Steffraini

Summary: An future AU of a 15th Doctor where a close member of the Doctor's own family continues his legacy after his final death in his 13th incarnation, taking his name and the TARDIS and following in his foot steps.

The above of course refers to a regenerated Susan. Includes Cap'n Jack and some other characters seen in "New Who," Torchwood etc. 14 parts, recently finished.

Big Finish will be issuing an audio drama version of what was reportedly once planned to be the second ever Doctor Who story, The Masters of Luxor. And it has been read by Carole Ann Ford and William Russell.

EDIT: Unfortunately as an anonymous reply to my post here kindly points out, it wasn't set in ancient Egypt! See the reply for what it may be about (and so may involve spoilers to the story). But it does include Susan.

Quote from Big Finish: "The season rounds off with the oft-requested The Masters of Luxor, originally planned to be the second ever Doctor Who story (performed by William Russell and Carole Ann Ford). [...] All these titles are available to pre-order individually, or you can take out CD or download subscriptions."

Just for fun and food for the imagination. It is a tricky question given how the times and the show changed. Therefore we are assuming for this poll that Susan's role would be successfully adjusted in ways that would allow her to work out for the given Doctor's era plot-wise, whilst retaining the underlying character of Susan.

If you can, it would be interesting to hear your thoughts as to why.
